Changes for Kit

When Kit finds out that her Uncle Hendrick is coming to stay for a while, she is not thrilled. Uncle Hendrick has hurt his ankle and wrist, and unfortunately, it is Kit’s job to take care of him. When he orders Kit to write letters and deliver them to the local newspaper editor, she starts to lose hope that things will get better.

But when Uncle Hendrick unknowingly gives Kit an idea, she decides to write her own letters to the editor. She writes about what is happening in her community and what others can do to help, even if they don’t have money. When Kit finds out that her letter is printed in the newspaper and the community is helping, she realizes that there is hope worth holding on to.
