Spring has finally arrived for Kirsten and her family. It’s also brought excitement to the family—a brand new barn and a new baby! Kirsten is excited about these new changes, but soon realizes these changes bring more work and worry. Kirsten is nervous for her Mama’s health and has to miss school to help with chores at home.

But when Kirsten realizes that she can’t help with a surprise at school, she thinks that all of her friends will forget about her. Kirsten’s birthday is just around the corner as well, but with a new baby and chores, she is doubtful they will celebrate. Kirsten is taken back when her family and friends surprise her with a birthday celebration.
