Kaya and Lone Dog
When an unknown dog wanders near Kaya’s camp, everyone warns her to be careful. Most dogs do not live by themselves and most cannot be trusted. Kaya feels sympathy for the dog and brings it food who is grateful for her generosity.
When the dog gives birth to puppies, Kaya is welcomed to be a part of her family. She feels that she can talk to the dog when looking into her eyes. Kaya’s grandmother tells her to listen when an animal speaks to her. When the puppies grow older, the dog has something to say and it isn’t something Kaya wants to hear.
