Meet Caroline Abbott, an adventurous, brave and heroic girl who has a passion for sailing on Lake Ontario with her Papa at their family shipyard. Living in Sackets Harbor, New York during the War of 1812, Caroline’s world is swept up when her Papa is taken prisoner from a British officer aboard her family’s sloop or boat.
Caroline promises her Papa that she will stay strong and help Mama at home and at the shipyard until he returns. But when the British attack her village, Caroline is determined to help the Americans no matter what. Can Caroline help, even if the task is one she is unsure of?
