Meet Kit Kittredge, an inquisitive, clever and resourceful girl living with her family in Cincinnati, Ohio during the Great Depression in 1934. Kit loves to write big stories for her Dad in her daily newspaper, but dreams of writing big stories for the local newspaper. When Kit finds a story for her newspaper, it’s news that’s really bad.
Mother’s friends have just lost their house and have come to stay with her family. What could be fun, is nothing but trouble for Kit. When her Dad loses his business, things go from bad to worse. When Mother has an idea to bring in boarders to help keep their home, Kit finds herself moving her bedroom to the attic. Will life ever be the same again?
