Meet Rebecca Rubin, a confident, charismatic and inspiring girl who is living with her big family in New York City in 1914. Rebecca dreams of becoming an actor like her cousin, Max, but her strict family does not approve. However, when she learns that her cousin Ana and her family are in danger, Rebecca wants to help.
She decides to raise money so they can move to America and live in New York City like her family. When Rebecca decides that the best way to help is to put on a show in her neighborhood, her plans are stopped by her disapproving family. However, she finds a new way to earn money for her cousin and family, but she has to keep her plans a secret. It’s the only way her plan will work.
