Kaya’s Frozen Berry Yogurt Bites

We are so happy that you have joined us for our next program for our inaugural exhibit, American Girl: 35 Years of Strong Characters

For today’s program, we will be making Frozen Berry Yogurt Bites, a recipe brought to us by one of American Girl’s kind characters, Kaya. Her story takes place in 1764.

Today’s recipe can be found online from Hip Foodie Mom. The following ingredients and directions make 8 to 10 bites. We hope you enjoy Kaya’s Frozen Berry Yogurt Bites.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups berry whole milk-yogurt

  • Fresh raspberries and blueberries

  • Granola

Equipment

  • Mini muffin pan

  • Mini muffin liners

Directions

  1. Line a mini muffin pan with mini cupcake liners.

  2. Spoon 1 to 2 tablespoons of the yogurt into each liner, filling 3/4th full.

  3. Top with fresh berries and sprinkle on a little granola over each one.

  4. Freeze overnight and enjoy the next day!

Did You Know: Berries were a staple of the Nez Percé diet. They were eaten fresh and dried as part of their winter food supply. The huckleberry was the most popular, and Kaya would have helped gather them in the mountains in late July.
